Standing out above most others, the enchanted storytelling of songstress Greta Gertler's Everyone Wants To Adore You, paints a gray picture of life in the recording industry. Gertler's vocals dance gracefully with the haunting, swirling piano accompaniment creating almost as much drama, musically, as the lyrics themselves. Jesse Harris & The Ferdinandos' I'm Alright, is a happy-feel-good type of song with a twinge of bluegrass undertones and a soft infectious rhythm that makes your foot almost instinctively tap along. It makes one want to laze around a country campfire and toast the sunset and welcome the dawn. You could even invite artists Joshua Novak and Had along to compliment the mood. If you want to sample the world of ready-for-radio-indie-pop without leaving the comfort of your own couch, you can pick up your own copy at ModMusicRecords.com. As a side note, the Indie Choice 2002 semi-finalists have been selected, and the ten winners will be announced on April 15th. - Tracee |
