Who cares about cupid, it was Friday the Thirteenth! It was a dark and stormy night. Well, it wasn't stormy, but it sure was cold. Normally you might not think of clean, green Boulder City as a good place to spend a evening but we had a great time and highly recommend it. There are many rumors about the allegedly haunted Boulder Dam Hotel and we eagerly anticipated an encounter with an ethereal being. The Heroines (Kelly Benway, Jennifer, Clay and Kurtis), the gals from The Randies and some of their pals were already gathered in the Underground Lounge. The stench of cigar smoke hung in the air. Was it the Cigar Man, whose spirit supposedly lingers in the hotel, or had someone simply enjoyed a stogie before our arrival?

Former Las Vegan Brendon Massei (of Spork and Supperbell Roundup) played a few songs to warm up the crowd in the small basement bar before The Heroines took to the stage for what ending up being the final rehearsal before their Double Down reunion show. The five song set was short and fierce, just like they were 8 years ago. Then we drank, danced, played the piano and prowled around the basement of the hotel while Jennifer puked in the hotel room. We never found our way to the purportedly haunted wine-cellar, but there were a few other unexplainable experiences. Lastly, are those ghostly apparitions in these photos or are we just chain smokers? You decide.
